The Learning Partnership for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Ltd (LPCo) was formed in 2001 to maximise the impact of European Social Fund (ESF) Objective One funding through developing and supporting the delivery of services to young people, adults (unemployed and employed) and businesses through partnership working. Since 2001 we have successfully delivered services funded by the ESF to the value of £60M supporting nearly 40,000 individuals helping them to improve confidence, skills and employment.
LPCo also delivers youth services funded by the local authority and Apprenticeships and Adult Education funded by the Education Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). All services are delivered through its partners and the key to its growth has been the relationships developed with these partners.
The LPCo has a particular strength in turning strategic aims into operational delivery. The core business of the LPCo is deliver activities to promote social inclusion, build social capital and enhance social cohesion by delivering projects that support young people, adults (employed and unemployed) and business sector organisations. Currently, the main source of funding is ESF (social and economic inclusion), Cornwall Council (youth services) and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (Apprenticeships and Adult Education).
